The Zambian football fraternity is mourning the sudden passing of Daniel Greyford Jere, a respected former Under-20 national team manager and seasoned football administrator. Jere, who was serving as a Green Buffaloes committee member, tragically passed away on Monday evening after collapsing at his home. He was rushed to Chilenje Level One Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Key Figure in Zambia’s U20 AFCON 2017 Triumph
Jere is best remembered for his outstanding role as team manager of the Junior Chipolopolo, who lifted the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title on home soil in 2017. The historic win remains one of Zambia’s proudest footballing achievements.
In addition to his national team duties, Jere also worked as team manager for Nkana Football Club, one of Zambia’s most successful and storied clubs.
