Zambia Under-16 displayed remarkable resilience as they came from behind twice to force a 2-2 draw against Tanzania in the FIFA Talent Development Program (TDS) Tournament, eventually winning 4-2 in a penalty shootout.

The match began with Tanzania taking an early lead, but Zambia quickly responded with a brilliant counter-attack that saw Maxwell Mulenga equalize 15 minutes into the game. Just before the break, Tanzania was awarded a penalty after Titus Shimumba’s foul, but Shimumba redeemed himself with a crucial save, keeping Zambia in the match.

In the second half, Tanzania regained their lead with a goal from Mohamed Shilla. However, Zambia’s persistence paid off when Kayula Chinunda scored two minutes before full time to level the match at 2-2.

The game was decided by penalties, where Zambia’s composure shone through as they triumphed 4-2, showcasing their nerve and skill under pressure.
