Zambia U-17 Girls Thrash DRC, Set Up Final Qualifier

Zambia’s Copper Princesses are just one step away from securing a historic third consecutive FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup appearance after dismantling the Democratic Republic of Congo 7-0 on aggregate to advance to the final round of the qualifiers.

The Carol Kanyemba-led side completed the job in style with a 2-0 victory away in Lubumbashi on Saturday, adding to their dominant 5-0 first-leg triumph to seal a comprehensive aggregate win.

The young Zambian stars once again showcased their quality, discipline and attacking prowess, underlining why they remain one of the rising forces in African women’s football at youth level.

Their reward is a decisive final-round showdown against Ethiopia, with a place at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup at stake. Zambia will host the first leg between July 3 and 5 before travelling to Ethiopia for the return fixture scheduled between July 10 and 12.
