Napsa Stars’ new signing Yusuph Shabani Athuman has vowed to fight for trophies and guide the club back to continental football.
Napsa Stars have officially unveiled Tanzanian striker Yusuph Shabani Athuman, who joins the club on a two-year deal from Armenian side FC West Armenia. The 23-year-old forward, who previously featured for Tanzanian giants Young Africans SC (Yanga), brings experience and attacking firepower to the Pensioners’ frontline.
Athuman expressed his ambition to help the Lusaka-based side reclaim their competitive edge in the MTN Super League and push for qualification to CAF competitions.
“To help Napsa fight for titles, compete strongly in domestic and deliver a spot to play in the international competitions, without forgetting bringing pride to the fans,” he said.
The striker also emphasized his personal goals of growth and consistency on the pitch.
“To keep developing as a player, contribute consistently on the field and establish myself as one of the top professionals in my position,” Athuman added.
Currently, Napsa Stars sit 16th on the table with two points after three games (two draws and one defeat). The Pensioners are still chasing their first win of the campaign and will next face Power Dynamos in what promises to be a tough fixture after the international break.
With Athuman’s arrival, fans will be eager to see if his attacking qualities can inspire a turnaround in form and steer the club away from early relegation worries.
