The Super League of Malawi witnessed an action-packed matchday on Saturday, 10th August 2024, with several teams putting on dominant performances across the board. Here’s a recap of the day’s results:

Civil Service United 4-0 Chitipa United

Civil Service United delivered a commanding performance to secure a 4-0 victory over Chitipa United. Duwe was the star of the match, scoring a hat-trick with goals in the 36th, 68th, and 90th minutes. Malinda added another just before halftime in the 45th minute, sealing a comfortable win for Civil Service United.

Bangwe All Stars 2-1 Dedza Dynamos

Bangwe All Stars edged out Dedza Dynamos with a narrow 2-1 win. Msowoya opened the scoring for Bangwe in the 13th minute, followed by Demkudate’s strike in the 81st minute. Dedza Dynamos managed to pull one back through Sadik in the 36th minute, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.

Karonga United 0-1 Silver Strikers

Silver Strikers left it late but eventually secured a crucial 1-0 victory over Karonga United. Davie scored the only goal of the match deep into stoppage time at 90+3’, ensuring the three points for Silver Strikers in a hard-fought encounter.

Mukuru Wanderers 8-0 Mzuzu City Hammers

Mukuru Wanderers put on a masterclass in attacking football, thrashing Mzuzu City Hammers 8-0. Kalaiti started the scoring spree in the 18th minute, followed by a flurry of goals from Nyirenda (45′), Kamanga (67′), Botomani (69′), and a hat-trick from Cirinza in the 78th, 80th, and 90th minutes. Gad also added his name to the scoresheet in the 55th minute, capping off a dominant performance.

Creck SC 8-0 Baka City

In another high-scoring game, Creck SC dismantled Baka City with an 8-0 victory. Nasiyaya (2’), Kiyama (28’), Tambala (46’), Gadroy (68’), Kadewati (75’), and a hat-trick from Chalamba (78’, 89’, 90+1’) completed the demolition job, leaving Baka City with no answers.

FOMO FC 0-1 MAFOC FC

MAFOC FC secured a crucial away victory against FOMO FC, thanks to a first-half goal from Malata in the 22nd minute. Despite FOMO FC’s efforts to equalize, MAFOC FC’s defense held firm, ensuring they took all three points back home.

Kamuzu Barracks 0-0 Mighty Tigers

Kamuzu Barracks and Mighty Tigers battled to a goalless draw in a match that was characterized by strong defensive displays from both sides. Despite several attempts to break the deadlock, neither team could find the back of the net, and they had to settle for a share of the spoils.

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets 1-1 Moyale FC

In one of the most anticipated matches of the day, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a 1-1 draw by Moyale FC. Phodo gave Big Bullets the lead in the 34th minute, but Moyale FC fought back, with Ng’ambi scoring the equalizer just before halftime in the 45th minute. The second half saw both teams push for a winner, but neither could find the decisive goal.

The Super League of Malawi’s matchday 16 on 10th August 2024 was a showcase of both dominant team performances and individual brilliance.
