Patson Daka Returns to Leicester City Starting XI with an Assist

Zambian forward Patson Daka marked his first start of the season for Leicester City on Tuesday night, delivering an impressive performance in their Championship fixture against Wrexham. The 25-year-old striker wasted no time making an impact, setting up Jordan James in the 36th minute with a well-timed assist that gave the Foxes a deserved early lead.

For the first 70 minutes, Leicester looked dominant and in full control, playing one of their most fluid games of the campaign. However, a lapse in concentration allowed Wrexham to claw their way back into the contest. In the 77th minute, Nathan Broadhead capitalized on a defensive error to draw the visitors level.

Shortly after the equalizer, Daka was substituted for Jordan Ayew in the 82nd minute, ending what had been an encouraging return to the starting lineup. Despite the frustrating result, his performance was a reminder of the quality he brings when trusted with minutes.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, speculation continues to grow around Daka’s future at King Power Stadium. Whether Leicester decides to extend his stay or move him on, his display against Wrexham hinted that he still has plenty left to offer.

Leicester City currently sit 5th in the Championship table with 13 points, while Wrexham occupy 15th place with 9 points. If Daka continues to contribute, he could play a crucial role in Leicester’s promotion push — whether as a starter or a wildcard option.
