Nachula Scores as Katamon Wins Athens Cup
Racheal Nachula, the prolific forward for the Copper Queens, showcased her scoring prowess once again as Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem secured victory in the prestigious Athens Cup. In a thrilling final match against Kiryat Gat SC Women, Nachula found the back of the net in the opening half of regular time, setting the stage for an intense battle.
Despite a valiant effort from Kiryat Gat SC Women, the match ended in a 1-1 draw at full time, leading to a tense penalty shootout. In the end, Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem emerged triumphant with a 5-4 victory in the shootout, securing the coveted Athens Cup title.
Reflecting on the historic win, Nachula expressed immense pride in her team’s achievement. “I am incredibly proud to be part of this championship-winning team,” she remarked in an interview with FAZ Media. “The club has not secured any silverware since the 70s, neither the men’s nor women’s teams, making this a remarkable start to the season.”

Having joined the Ligat Al Women’s League side in July last year, Nachula’s impact on Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem’s success has been significant, demonstrating her talent and ability to make a difference on the field. As she continues to excel at the club level, fans eagerly anticipate her future contributions to the Copper Queens and Zambian football as a whole.
