As the official sponsor of AFCON 2025, 1xBet follows Africa’s biggest football tournament from the very first whistle. The fight for the trophy is filled with passion, drama, and unpredictability, and every game can change the course of the competition. Supporting AFCON means celebrating spectacular football, unforgettable emotions, and unexpected twists that make this tournament truly special.
Below, we highlight the crucial fixtures of Round 3 of AFCON 2025, where every match could become unforgettable.
Uganda vs Nigeria
In the first two rounds, the Super Eagles defeated Tanzania (2-1) and Tunisia (3-2), securing their spot in the knockout stage early. Ademola Lookman shone brightest in the Nigeria team, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists to become the tournament’s most prolific player.
Uganda have earned only 1 point in two matches and can no longer afford any mistakes. To make their dream come true and reach the AFCON knockout stage for the first time in 6 years, the Cranes need to beat Nigeria in their last group stage game.
The Super Eagles are the clear favorites in the match, but they have no tournament motivation for this clash. Éric Chelle may give his leaders a rest ahead of the next stage and use his reserves. This potential rotation in the opposition’s line-up gives Uganda hope for a miracle.
W1 – 3.78, X – 3.235, W2 – 2.237
Sudan vs Burkina Faso
Both teams lost to Algeria but beat Equatorial Guinea. The outcome of their H2H match will settle the intrigue in Group E: one of the teams will advance directly to the knockout stage, while the other will have to watch their competitors’ games and hope to make it to the next stage from 3rd place.
The Burkina Faso national team has many footballers who play leading roles in clubs from the top leagues: Bertrand Traoré from Sunderland, Dango Ouattara from Brentford and Edmond Tapsoba from Bayer Leverkusen. It’s no wonder that the Stallions put up a fight against Algeria and approach the decisive match against Sudan as favorites.
W1 – 5.93, X – 2.919, W2 – 1.963
Gabon vs Côte d’Ivoire
The Panthers flopped at the start of AFCON, losing to Cameroon (0-1) and Mozambique (2-3), which came as a surprise to many fans after Gabon’s impressive performances in the 2026 World Cup qualification. But Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his teammates still have a chance to turn things around: to reach the knockout stage, they have to defeat Côte d’Ivoire.
The reigning champions started with a narrow victory over Mozambique (1-0) and shared the points with Cameroon (1-1). The Elephants have almost secured their spot in the next stage, but they certainly want to win their group to face an easier opponent in the round of 16.
Gabon have a score to settle with Côte d’Ivoire after losing the battle for a direct ticket to the World Cup in North America. The Panthers may surprise everyone when no one expects them to and flip the situation in Group F in their favor.
W1 – 7.65, X – 3.985, W2 – 1.564
Mozambique vs Cameroon
The Mambas are close to rewriting history and reaching the AFCON knockout stage for the first time. Mozambique have already become one of the main discoveries of the tournament, largely thanks to the brilliant and prolific play of their leader, Geny Catamo.
Cameroon will also be looking to win to finish the group stage in 1st place and avoid facing one of the giants of African football in the round of 16. The Indomitable Lions have a very solid defense and a creative attack led by Manchester United forward Bryan Mbeumo.
Cameroon are the favorites, but Mozambique are an unpredictable dark horse that cannot be ruled out.
W1 – 5.83, X – 3.595, W2 – 1.751
