Lameck Banda Returns to Italy Following Lecce Warning

Lameck Banda Returns to Italy Following Lecce Warning

Chipolopolo winger Lameck Banda has finally returned to Italy after Serie A side Lecce warned that he could face disciplinary action for failing to report for pre-season training on time.

The Zambia international departed Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) on Wednesday afternoon aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight, accompanied by his newly-wedded wife.

Silent Departure

Banda kept a low profile before leaving Zambia and declined to comment when approached by journalists in the departure lounge.

His departure comes after days of uncertainty surrounding his delayed return to Italy.

Lecce Issued Warning

Earlier, Lecce confirmed through their official communication channels that Banda had failed to report for pre-season training despite being instructed to return.

The Serie A club stated that the Zambian international’s absence was unauthorised and warned that disciplinary measures could be taken if the matter was not resolved.

Banda’s return is expected to ease tensions, with the forward now set to rejoin his teammates as preparations for the new Serie A campaign continue.

Focus Shifts to the New Season

The 24-year-old remains an important player for Lecce and will now be looking to put the off-field distraction behind him as he fights for a place in the starting line-up.

His return is also welcome news for the Chipolopolo technical bench, who will be hoping the winger regains full focus ahead of Zambia’s upcoming international assignments.

Conclusion

Lameck Banda’s return to Italy brings an end to speculation surrounding his delayed arrival at Lecce.

Attention will now shift to his performances on the pitch as he seeks to repay the club’s faith and enjoy another productive season in the Italian top flight.
