
Greek giants Panathinaikos FC have officially unveiled Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa after completing his transfer from Israeli champions Hapoel Be’er Sheva.
The Zambia international has signed a four-year contract with the Athens-based club, keeping him at Panathinaikos until June 2030.
Multi-Million Euro Move
Kangwa joins Panathinaikos in one of the biggest transfers involving a Zambian player in recent years.
The Greek club agreed a transfer package worth €4.5 million, comprising a €3.8 million fixed fee and a further €700,000 in performance-related bonuses.
The midfielder is also reportedly set to earn around €1 million per season during his stay in Greece.

The move comes after Kangwa enjoyed a memorable spell with Hapoel Be’er Sheva, where he established himself as one of the standout performers in the Israeli Premier League.
Across two successful seasons, the Chipolopolo star made 84 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 20 assists, contributing an outstanding 49 goal involvements from midfield.
His performances played a crucial role in Be’er Sheva’s domestic success and significantly enhanced his reputation across European football.

Kangwa leaves Israel after helping Hapoel Be’er Sheva progress to the third qualifying round of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League.
In his final appearance for the club on Wednesday, he provided the assist for Be’er Sheva’s second goal in a 2-0 victory over Vikingur Reykjavik, securing a 3-2 aggregate win.
Following the match, the Zambian international shared an emotional farewell message, thanking the club, teammates and supporters for their unwavering support throughout his time in Israel.
European Football Awaits
Kangwa now joins a Panathinaikos side competing in the UEFA Conference League qualifying rounds, where he will be hoping to help the Greek giants secure European football this season.
