Kabwe Warriors Football Club has confirmed that Assistant Coach Chintu Kampamba will leave the club at the end of June 2025, bringing an end to his time with the Magnificent People’s Team. The 2012 AFCON winner becomes the second senior member of the technical bench to exit the club this month.
Club Statement Confirms Departure
In a statement released on Monday, June 16, Kabwe Warriors said they will not be renewing Kampamba’s contract following a comprehensive evaluation of the current coaching setup and the club’s future plans.
“The decision was made after careful evaluation and consideration of the team’s coaching structure and future plans,” the club stated.
The statement further emphasized the club’s commitment to building a technical team capable of steering the team to long-term success.
Second Technical Team Exit After Kachinga
Kampamba’s exit follows the earlier departure of head coach Albert Kachinga, whose contract was also not renewed by the club. The back-to-back exits signal a major technical overhaul as the Warriors prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 MTN Super League season.
Club Expresses Gratitude
The Kabwe Warriors Executive Committee extended its gratitude to Kampamba for his contributions during his time with the club.
“The club thanks him for his dedication and hard work during his tenure and wishes him continued success in his coaching career.”
Kampamba, a respected figure in Zambian football and a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations winner, has served Kabwe Warriors with passion and professionalism since his appointment.
What’s Next for the Warriors?
With both the head coach and assistant coach positions now vacant, Kabwe Warriors will be looking to restructure their bench ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The club is expected to announce new technical appointments in the coming weeks as part of its renewed ambition.
