Joseph Banda Scores First Goal for FC Zürich II
Zambian young talent Joseph Sabobo Banda made a significant impact for FC Zurich II, scoring his maiden goal in a thrilling encounter against Breitenrain. Banda’s goal came just two minutes into the match, showcasing his prowess and potential on the field.
However, Breitenrain fought back, with Robin Golliard leveling the score from the penalty spot 20 minutes later. Undeterred, Banda’s team regained the lead before halftime, courtesy of Nils Reichmuth’s goal. Despite their efforts, Breitenrain managed to equalize once again in the second half, ensuring a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

This match marked Banda’s third appearance for Zurich II since joining the club, following his impressive performances for the Zambia U17 team and Red Arrows. Competing in the Hoval Promotion League, which stands as the third tier of the Swiss football league system, FC Zurich II has high hopes for Banda’s potential.
Having signed a five-year deal with the Swiss club in January, Banda’s early goal serves as a promising sign of his future contributions to FC Zurich II and potentially Zambia’s footballing landscape. With his talent and determination, Banda is poised to make further strides in his footballing career, both domestically and internationally.
