Fc saint éloi lupopo officiel touched down SMK International Airport in Ndola

CONGOLESE side Fc saint éloi lupopo officiel touched down SMK International Airport in Ndola last night ahead of their home CAF Confederations match against Marumo Gallants of South Africa to be played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday at 15:00.

After a 3-0 loss away to USM Algiers in Algeria last weekend, the Lubumbashi side are joint bottom with Al Akhdar of Libya while the South Africans are joint top with the Algerians.

TP Mazembe fans have now nicknamed their city rivals as FC Zambie after they ignored their CAF approved Stadium.

SPORTS Minister Elvis Nkandu said government has given  to Lubumbashi based side Fc saint éloi lupopo officiel to use Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola as their home ground for the 2022/23 CAF Confederations Cup Group Stages. He has further engaged FAZ to work with the Congolese and follow the right procedure to use the government facility.

“This clearly tells us that we are in a very good position as a country to host international engagements. We just have to keep improving our facilities. They are neighbours and we also might need help from them, so we are granting them permission to use the Levy Mwanawasa facility,” Nkandu as quoted by Times of Zambia.

The Congolese side who will host Gallant of South Africa this Sunday, are in the same group with USM Algiers of Algeria and Libya’s Al Akhdar.
