Zambian forward Enock Sakala Jr has left Kyrgyzstan side Abdysh-Ata Kant, marking his fifth club departure in just over two years since leaving ZESCO United in July 2024.
The 27-year-old joined Abdysh-Ata Kant in July 2026 after leaving United Arab Emirates side Gulf United, but his stay lasted only two months. The Kyrgyzstan club confirmed his departure while thanking Sakala for his dedication, professionalism and contribution during his time with the team. Sakala made six appearances and scored two goals during his short spell.
Since leaving ZESCO United, Sakala has moved between five clubs in five different countries. He started with Egypt’s Modern Sport, where he made three appearances without scoring, before joining South Africa’s Chippa United, where he recorded one goal in six appearances. He then returned to Zambia with Nkana, making five appearances without finding the net, before moving to Gulf United in the UAE, where he scored four goals in 10 appearances. His latest chapter at Abdysh-Ata produced two goals from six appearances.
Overall, Sakala has made 30 appearances and scored seven goals since leaving ZESCO United. His most productive period during this stretch came before his departure from the Ndola giants, when he scored 12 league goals during the 2023-24 MTN Super League campaign and finished second in the Golden Boot race behind Freddy Michael Kouablan, who scored 14.
Sakala will now assess his options once again as he searches for his next destination. At 27, the forward will be hoping his next move can provide the stability and regular playing time needed to rediscover the scoring form that made him one of the leading forwards in Zambia’s top flight.
