Zambia national football team will compete in a Four-Nation Tournament scheduled to take place in Botswana later this year.
The tournament, confirmed by Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), will feature regional rivals Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Malawi in what promises to be a competitive Southern African showcase.
The competition will run from 23 to 31 March 2026 and will be staged at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown.
The four participating nations are:
-
Zambia national football team
-
Zimbabwe national football team
-
Botswana national football team
-
Malawi national football team
The tournament presents an important preparatory window for the participating teams, offering competitive match minutes outside of official qualifiers. For Zambia, the fixtures will provide an opportunity to assess squad depth, test tactical adjustments, and build cohesion ahead of upcoming international commitments.
Regional tournaments of this nature often serve as strategic calibration exercises, particularly when held within the COSAFA corridor, where familiarity between teams increases the tactical intensity of encounters.
With matches compressed into an eight-day window, squad rotation and physical management will be central to performance outcomes.
Chipolopolo’s participation underscores the importance of structured international exposure in 2026. The Francistown tournament offers a controlled but competitive environment for performance refinement, regional benchmarking, and momentum building.
Attention will now turn to squad selection and match scheduling as Zambia prepares for the March engagement in Botswana.
