CAF Confirms Playoffs Line Up for 2026 FIFA World Cup

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed the CAF Play-offs for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with Nigeria set to face Gabon, while Cameroon will take on DR Congo in what promises to be two high-stakes encounters.

The matches, which will all be played in Morocco, will determine which African side secures a final spot in the intercontinental play-offs the last hurdle toward qualification for the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

There was heartbreak for Niger, who narrowly missed out on qualification for the play-offs on goal difference, despite a spirited campaign in Group E.

The winners from these play-off ties will represent Africa in the FIFA intercontinental play-offs, where they will battle teams from other confederations for the remaining World Cup slots.

With four African nations already through Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, and South Africa the continent now awaits to see who will claim the final ticket to the 2026 showpiece.
