CAF Begins Second Inspection Tour Ahead of CHAN 2024
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has begun its second round of inspection visits to Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya in preparation for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to be co-hosted by the three East African nations.
The CAF delegation is scheduled to be in Nairobi, Kenya, from November 27th to 30th, where they will evaluate the progress of preparations to ensure the countries are ready to host this prestigious continental tournament.
Focus of the Inspection
The team will assess key infrastructure and logistics, including:
Stadiums: Ensuring the playing venues meet the world-class standards required for CAF competitions.
Hotels: Checking accommodation facilities for teams, officials, and fans.
Airports: Reviewing transport hubs for seamless entry and exit.
Training Venues: Evaluating the quality and readiness of training grounds.
Other Facilities: Ensuring medical, broadcast, and security arrangements are up to standard.
The inspection team includes representatives from several CAF departments, including Marketing, Communication, Broadcast, Competition, Safety and Security, Medical, and Protocol. This ensures that all aspects of the tournament organization are scrutinized for excellence.
CHAN 2024 marks a historic moment for East Africa as Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya become the first trio to co-host the tournament. The event provides a significant platform to showcase local talent, culture, and infrastructure while promoting regional cooperation and unity.
CAF’s rigorous inspection process underscores the importance of delivering a top-tier tournament. The co-hosting nations are expected to rise to the occasion and ensure all facilities are in place for a successful championship.
With just months remaining until the competition, the spotlight is on Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya to demonstrate their readiness. For football enthusiasts across the continent, CHAN 2024 promises to be a celebration of Africa’s homegrown talent and the vibrant spirit of East Africa.
