Tonight, Zambia‘s U17 football team will face off against South Africa‘s U17 team in the TotalEnergies U17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport and TopStar and will kick off at 21h00CAT at the Mohamed Hamlaoui stadium in Constantine.
Zambia will be seeking to recover from their narrow 1-0 defeat to Nigeria in their first Group B game. Meanwhile, South Africa will be looking to bounce back from their own 2-0 loss to Morocco on 30 April. This will be the third time in five months that the two COSAFA teams will meet, with Zambia having won the previous two encounters at the COSAFA Championship in Malawi.
For Zambia, Shadreck Kalyati is likely to start in goal, supported by Charles Kampamba, Sekanji Siame, Aaron Simpasa, Milimo Nalumango or Josiah Kabandula in defense. Mwaliteta Junior, Lweendo Chimuka and David Hamasenya are also available at the back.
Skipper Aaron Mbemba Phiri will command the midfield alongside Joseph Liteta, Emmanuel Mwanza, Josim Sikazwe, Samson Malaya or Stanley Nyamikwe. Marcel Zimba, who scored in the teams’ previous encounter, is expected to start in front alongside Luketekelo Kapowa or Linecker Mbesuma.
