Barbra Banda Stars as Zambia Crushes Angola 6-0 in WAFCON Qualifiers
In a commanding display of skill and precision, Barbra Banda, captain of the Zambia National Women’s Team, led her side to a resounding 6-0 triumph over Angola in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers.
The Copper Queens asserted their dominance from the start, and it was Lushomo Mweemba who opened the scoring in the 40th minute, setting the tone for a formidable performance. Barbra Banda took center stage, showcasing her goal-scoring prowess with a brace in the first half.
In the 42nd minute, Banda confidently converted a penalty, doubling Zambia’s lead. She wasn’t finished yet, adding another goal in the 45th minute to secure a comfortable 3-0 advantage for the Copper Queens heading into halftime.

The second half continued in the same vein, with Ireen Lungu extending Zambia’s lead to 4 in the 52nd minute. Barbra Banda completed her hat-trick in the 65th minute, further solidifying Zambia’s dominance on the field.
Racheal Kundananji put her name on the scoresheet in the 86th minute, contributing to the team’s comprehensive 6-0 victory. The Copper Queens’ exceptional teamwork, coupled with individual brilliance, proved too much for Angola to handle throughout the match.
