Avram Grant Expects More from Zambia Despite Victory over Lesotho

The Zambia National Team put up an impressive performance to enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with a 3-1 victory over Lesotho in Ndola. Despite going behind in the 33rd minute due to a mistake by Toaster Nsabata, the Chipolopolo responded four minutes later with a Fashion Sakala goal to level the scores before half-time.

In the second half, Lameck Banda stole the show with a man-of-the-match performance, scoring a brace in just three minutes to secure the victory for the Copper Bullets. Banda‘s impact off the bench was praised by coach Avram Grant, who stated that he expects all players coming off the bench to perform at the same level.

The victory propelled Zambia to the top of Group H with six points, ahead of Ivory Coast. Despite having played one more game than Ivory Coast, Zambia’s dominant performance and Banda‘s outstanding performance put them in a strong position to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.
