ABSA Cup 2026: Arrows Advance, Chirundu Upset Zanaco
Red Arrows Football club delivered a clinical performance to defeat Play It Forward FC 4-1 and secure their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 ABSA Cup.
The Airmen’s emphatic victory confirms their growing momentum in this year’s competition, as they continue their pursuit of silverware.
They are joined in the last four by giant-killers Chirundu United, who pulled off another upset by edging Zanaco FC 1-0 in the earlier fixture played at Arthur Davies Stadium.
Chirundu United’s winning goal came in the first half, and they showed remarkable defensive discipline to protect their lead until the final whistle. The result further underlines their impressive cup run, having now eliminated both Zanaco and Kabwe Warriors two top-flight sides despite competing in the National League.
Attention now shifts to the final quarter-final fixtures scheduled for Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
The early kickoff at 12:30 will see Mufulira Wanderers take on FC MUZA in what promises to be a tightly contested encounter.
Later in the day, defending league champions Power Dynamos will face Nchanga Rangers at 15:00 in another high-stakes clash.
With underdogs rising and heavyweights asserting themselves, the 2026 ABSA Cup continues to deliver compelling narratives as the race for the trophy intensifies.
