2025/26 ZPL National League Match Week 5 Fixtures

The Zambia National League 2025/26 season is heating up faster than a braai stand at Kamwala market! Week 4 gave us shocks, sweeps, and some outright disasters (looking at you, Atletico Lusaka), but Week 5 is here with fixtures that could flip the table upside down.

Let’s break it down, one fixture at a time.

Roan United vs Ndola United

Kafubu Stadium, Luanshya
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
Roan United are on a perfect 12 points out of 12. Ndola United, meanwhile, are camped in 12th with zero wins in four. On paper, this looks like David vs Goliath… except David forgot his sling.

Expect Roan to keep marching. Anything less than 3 points will be Luanshya’s biggest shock since Zesco load-shedding schedules.

Trident vs Chipata City Council

Sentinel Ground, Kalumbila
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
Both sides sit neck-and-neck on 7 points. Trident score fewer but defend tighter; Chipata score a bit more but leak goals like a rusty bucket.

Could be cagey. A draw smells likely, but a winner here jumps straight into the top five.

Kitwe United vs Lumwana Radiants

Garden Park Stadium, Kitwe
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
The Buchi Boys are winless, stuck on a lonely point, while Lumwana hover mid-table with 5 points.

If Kitwe don’t wake up now, Garden Park might soon turn into a funeral parlour for their promotion dreams.

Kafue Celtics vs Locus

Croc’s Swamp, Lusaka
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
The Crocs (8th place) face a struggling Locus (16th place, 2 points).

Celtics at home should chomp down hard. If Locus escape the swamp alive, they deserve medals.

River Plate vs Jumulo FC

Independence Stadium, Lusaka
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
Basement clash: River Plate (14th, 2 points) vs Jumulo (13th, 3 points). Between them? Zero wins in eight matches.

Somebody has to win… right? This could be the weekend where one finally remembers how to score.

Mpulungu Harbour vs Chirundu United

Muzabwera, Mpulungu
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
Mpulungu (10th) welcome second-placed Chirundu, who are chasing down Roan.

Chirundu should win, but up north in Mpulungu, anything can happen. A banana skin warning here.

Forest Rangers vs Chambishi

Dola Hill, Ndola
Saturday, September 13th – 15:00
Forest (4th) are solid and at home; Chambishi (9th) are unpredictable.

Expect Forest to grind out three points. Dola Hill isn’t famous for freebies.

Makeni All Stars vs Aguila Stars

Reiz Arena, Lusaka
Sunday, September 14th – 15:00
The“Battle of the Stars”! Makeni sit in 3rd on 9 points, Aguila in 7th with 7. Makeni look like genuine promotion contenders. Expect them to shine brightest on Sunday.

Atletico Lusaka vs Indeni FC

Nkoloma Stadium, Lusaka
Sunday, September 14th – 15:00
Atletico Lusaka: 4 games. 4 losses. 0 points. Rock bottom. Now they face Indeni (15th with 2 points).

If Atletico can’t win this, Nkoloma will need a priest because something deeper than tactics is wrong.

Quick Look at the Table Going Into week 5

Roan United: 4/4 wins, perfect leaders.

Chirundu & Makeni: Hot pursuit in 2nd & 3rd.

Atletico Lusaka & Kitwe United: Stuck in nightmare mode.

Matchweek 5 promises drama across Zambia: unbeaten Roan looking unstoppable, the battle of the basement between River Plate & Jumulo, and Atletico desperately fighting to stay alive. One thing is guaranteed: this league has more twists than Cairo Road traffic at 17:00.
