Encouraging Progress for Rainford Kalaba: UTH Shares Positive Update
The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has provided an optimistic update on the recovery of former Chipolopolo midfielder Rainford Kalaba.
According to UTH’s public relations officer Nzeba Chanda, Kalaba’s condition has shown remarkable improvement, and he is responding positively to treatment.
Medical staff attending to Kalaba have noted a significant increase in his responsiveness, with signs of perceiving movements and gestures around him.
Chanda highlighted that Kalaba’s positive response extends to touch and sound, indicating promising signs of functionality.
Of significance is Kalaba’s ability to exhibit purposeful movements when called by his name, suggesting an increasing awareness of his surroundings.
Chanda further disclosed, “When you call his name, he’s moving, the doctors have testified that actually there’s a lot of improvement.”
Kalaba was involved in a road traffic accident on Saturday, April 13, along Great North Road in Kafue, resulting in the unfortunate loss of the motor vehicle’s driver.
He was swiftly taken to the University Teaching Hospital for treatment, where he continues to receive care and support.
