Andy Boyeli Joins Sekhukhune United from Power Dynamos
Power Dynamos striker Andy Boyeli has agreed to terms with Sekhukhune United, marking an exciting new chapter in his football career as he joins the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season. The DR Congo forward has been a standout talent in the Zambian Super League over the past two seasons, showcasing his remarkable goal-scoring abilities.
Boyeli’s prowess was on full display during the 2022/23 season when he led Power Dynamos to the league title with an impressive Golden Boot-winning campaign, netting 18 league goals. This stellar performance drew attention from major clubs, including TP Mazembe and Cape Town City, who made inquiries about the talented striker. Despite these offers, Boyeli remained committed to Power Dynamos for another season.
However, the 2023/24 season proved challenging for both Boyeli and his club. He scored eight goals, and Power Dynamos finished third, trailing 15 points behind champions Red Arrows. As the season concluded, Sekhukhune United acted swiftly to secure Boyeli’s services, engaging with Dynamos and finalizing terms.
Sources close to the seven-time league winners confirmed Boyeli’s imminent move to South Africa, dispelling rumors of a potential transfer to Kaizer Chiefs. The 23-year-old striker has signed a three-year contract with Sekhukhune United and is expected to arrive in South Africa in the coming days.
Boyeli’s arrival at Babina Noko will see him compete with Nigerian striker Chibuike Ohizu for a spot in the starting lineup. As Sekhukhune United prepares for a consecutive season in the CAF Confederation Cup, the club is also finalizing deals for a new head coach, signaling a period of significant transition and ambition.
