Zimbabwe National Team to use Levy Mwanawasa for 2023 AFCON Qualifiers
Zimbabwe Football Association Communications manager ‘Xolisani Gwesela has confirmed that the Zimbabwe National team will use Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on the Copperbelt for their AFCON 2023 qualifiers. Mr Gwesela has said they wanted to use the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka but it will be used by the Zambia National team for their home matches.
We have until Friday next week to submit the venue that shall host our home matches for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers, We approached Zambia since our Stadiums were condemned by CAF and we wanted to use National heroes stadium in Lusaka , unfortunately their National team will be using same stadium for the qualifiers .
The stadium that is available is Levy Mwanawasa in Copperbelt, 316KM from Lusaka. From the look of things if our suspension is lifted , we are most likely going to use Levy Mwanawasa Stadium for our home matches”.
