Nchanga Rangers Appoint New Goalkeeper Coach Ahead of Green Eagles Clash

MTN Super League side Nchanga Rangers have announced a significant change to their technical bench as they prepare for their upcoming away fixture against Green Eagles. The Chingola-based outfit, currently sitting 13th on the log with 28 points from 25 games, has appointed Cameroonian-born Eugene Tchatchoua as their new Goalkeepers Coach on a one-year contract.

Eugene Tchatchoua steps into this role following the mutual parting of ways with former coach Yona Phiri, who previously served as the club’s goalkeeper coach. The club expressed its gratitude to Phiri for his contributions, wishing him well in his future endeavors. Tchatchoua is expected to bring fresh ideas and a new approach to the goalkeeper coaching department, potentially improving the team’s last line of defense—a crucial factor for Nchanga Rangers as they aim to move up the table and secure vital points in the upcoming matches.

The appointment comes at a critical juncture, with the club needing to tighten its defensive organization ahead of their match against Green Eagles. With Nchanga Rangers battling to escape the relegation scrap, the new coach’s role will be key in ensuring that the goalkeepers are well-prepared, confident, and able to handle pressure in high-stakes fixtures. The upcoming clash against Green Eagles will serve as an early test for Tchatchoua, as his ability to integrate with the team and implement his coaching philosophy could have a lasting impact on the club’s fortunes.

As the season enters its final stretch, every technical change counts. Nchanga Rangers will be hoping that Tchatchoua’s appointment helps shore up their defense and improves their overall performance on the pitch. With Green Eagles among the stronger sides in the league, this away fixture will be a pivotal moment for the team to demonstrate resilience and secure the points necessary to climb out of the lower ranks.
