Green Eagles’ Winless Streak Continues After Atletico Lusaka Defeat
Green Eagles’ struggles in the MTN Super League persisted as they suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Atletico Lusaka, extending their winless streak. The Choma-based side, currently sitting in 10th place with 31 points after 25 matches, once again fell short, conceding at crucial moments in both halves.
Coach Hachipuka Frustrated by Lack of Concentration
Despite the defeat, Coach Kebby Hachipuka expressed a level of acceptance with his team’s performance but pointed to a clear weakness—conceding late in both halves. “We lost concentration at the wrong moments, and that cost us. We need to improve our focus and close out halves stronger,” he said.
With this loss, Green Eagles remain stuck in mid-table, missing a chance to move closer to the top half of the standings. Their last victory feels like a distant memory, and pressure is mounting to turn things around.
Next Challenge: Nchanga Rangers Clash
Looking ahead, Green Eagles will face Nchanga Rangers, a side that is also battling inconsistency. While Coach Hachipuka acknowledged the upcoming challenge, he remained cautious. “We will prepare for Nchanga Rangers because they are also struggling,” he noted.
However, Nchanga Rangers are heading into this fixture on the back of a 2-0 win over Nkana, a victory that lifted them to 13th place with 28 points. With renewed confidence, they will be looking to capitalize on Green Eagles’ poor form and climb further up the table.
Can Green Eagles Bounce Back?
As the league enters its decisive phase, Green Eagles must find a way to regain their form and stop the downward spiral. Their defensive lapses have been costly, and another defeat could see them dragged further into the lower half of the table.
Will they finally break their winless run, or will Nchanga Rangers continue their resurgence? All eyes will be on this crucial clash.
