NAPSA Stars Football Club have officially confirmed the departure of six players as preparations for the 2026 Transitional League continue.
The Lusaka-based outfit announced that experienced winger Augustine Mulenga, Rally Bwalya, Habib Kyombo Haji, Tresor Ilunga and David Bulaya have all left the club following the expiry of their contracts, while Sydney Phiri has returned to his parent club after completing his loan spell.
The departures mark the beginning of a squad restructuring as the Pensioners prepare for the upcoming campaign.
End of the Road for Six Players
Among the biggest names leaving is former Chipolopolo winger Augustine Mulenga, whose second spell at the club comes to an end after helping NAPSA Stars retain their MTN Super League status last season.
Joining him on the list of departures are Rally Bwalya, Habib Kyombo Haji, Tresor Ilunga and David Bulaya, whose contracts have not been renewed.
Sydney Phiri also leaves after the completion of his loan agreement.
Heartfelt Farewell
In a farewell message, NAPSA Stars thanked the players for their commitment and contribution during their time at the club.
“Today, we say thank you.”
“To Augustine Mulenga, Rally Bwalya, Habib Kyombo Haji, Tresor Ilunga, David Bulaya, and Sydney Phiri, thank you for the dedication, hard work, and memories created in NAPSA Stars colours.”
The club also wished the departing players success in the next stage of their careers.
“As your journeys take new directions, we wish you nothing but success and happiness in the future.”
“Once a Pensioner, always a Pensioner.”
Squad Rebuilding Underway
The departures are expected to create room for new arrivals as NAPSA Stars continue planning for the Transitional League season.
Like many MTN Super League clubs, the Pensioners are expected to be active during the transfer window as they seek to strengthen key areas of the squad.
Supporters will now be eagerly awaiting announcements regarding incoming players.
Conclusion
The exit of six players signals the start of a new chapter for NAPSA Stars.
While the club bids farewell to a group of players who contributed to the team’s journey, attention now turns to recruitment as the Pensioners aim to assemble a competitive squad capable of challenging in the 2026 Transitional League.
