Malawi Football: Promise Kamwendo Caught in Transfer Saga
Malawian footballer Promise Kamwendo is at the center of a transfer saga involving two of the country’s top clubs, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and Mighty Mukuru Wanderers. The player has clarified that he has not entered into any agreement with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets and is committed to staying with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, where he is currently content.
In a statement, Kamwendo responded to inquiries from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM) regarding his decision not to join FCB Nyasa Big Bullets despite reports that they had already advanced funds for his transfer. Kamwendo denied receiving any money from Bullets, refuting claims that he had accepted K400,000 through his representative, Mr. Chilunga. He stated that he was unaware of Mr. Chilunga’s actions in Blantyre and emphasized that he had never finalized a contract with Bullets.
Kamwendo further revealed that he had informed his current club, Dedza, of his preference to remain with Wanderers, who had already compensated him. He stated unequivocally that if Bullets had indeed provided any funds, they should be returned, as he has no intention of joining their ranks.
The footballer made it clear that his passion lies with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, and he has no desire to play for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. This situation has sparked significant attention within Malawian football, as fans and officials alike await the next developments in this ongoing transfer saga.
