Kansanshi Dynamos assistant coach Dennis Makinka has praised his players following a commanding 3-0 victory over FC MUZA, a result that lifts the Mabanga Boys out of the relegation zone in the MTN Super League.
Speaking after the match, Makinka was quick to commend his squad for executing the game plan effectively while also acknowledging the challenge posed by MUZA despite the convincing scoreline.
“First of all, I want to congratulate the boys for this win and moving out of the relegation zone. I also want to give props to MUZA—they gave us a good game. Those who didn’t watch might think it was easy looking at the 3-0 scoreline, but it wasn’t,” Makinka said.
Tactically, Kansanshi Dynamos approached the game with a clear focus on neutralizing MUZA’s key threat, Given Kalusa, while maximizing their transitions in attack. According to Makinka, limiting Kalusa’s influence was central to their success.
“We worked according to plan and made sure Kalusa, who is their main man, was not near the ball. When we won possession, we focused on quick transitions and using the counterattack effectively,” he explained.
Despite the emphatic victory, Makinka admitted his side could have scored more, pointing to a lack of clinical finishing in front of goal as an area that still needs improvement.
“We were not clinical enough. We missed a lot of chances—the game could have ended 7-0 if we had taken our opportunities,” he added.
The coach also reflected on his substitutions, noting that while they were necessary, they affected the rhythm of the game as the tempo dropped after the changes were made.
Looking ahead, Makinka emphasized that the victory should serve as motivation as Kansanshi prepare for another tough assignment against Green Buffaloes, who come into the fixture on the back of a win over Green Eagles.
“This result will be used as fuel for the next game. Buffaloes are coming from a win, so we expect another tough match,” he said.
The win not only boosts Kansanshi Dynamos’ position on the table but also injects confidence into a side that is fighting to maintain its status in the top flight as the season approaches its decisive stages.
Conclusion
Kansanshi Dynamos’ victory over FC MUZA could prove to be a defining moment in their season. With renewed belief and momentum, the Mabanga Boys now shift focus to sustaining their climb up the table, knowing consistency will be key in securing their Super League survival.
