LET’S TALK ABOUT MARTHA TEMBO THE UNSUNG HERO
I once said ‘Our defence our strength’ and Martha Tembo has been part of it. She has been such a reliable player so far in defense for Zambia . In yesterday’s game she was excellent.
Her awareness and caution is what has been her strength so far. She knows how to position her self and make challenge for every ball within her reach. Yesterday she made a decisive clearance in the dieing minutes of the game. That was dieing a little for mother Zambia . (She intercepted the striker who hit her on the knee but she did not fall until she cleared the ball out of danger)
It’s very hard for a defender to be spotted in the game because all they do is defend, but a true soccer analyst will spot a hard working defender even when his/her side is down by 1 plus goals.
We will need her in the next game and her excellent abilities might help the team reach the finals of this year’s WAFCON
