Fashion Sakala makes history as first Zambian player to reach the UEFA Europa Final
Sakala and his Rangers side are through to the final after defeating RB Leipzig.
The last Zambian to achieve a similar feat was Charles Musonda Snr who reached the final of the abolished Cup Winners’ Cup which was regarded by UEFA as the second most prestigious European club competition and equivalent to the Europa league of today.
Musonda was runners up with his Anderlecht side in 1990 after losing 2-0 to Sampdoria and was the last Zambian to play in a European interclub competition final.
