Copper Princesses Arrive in Morocco for FIFA U17 Second Leg
The Zambia National Under-17 Women’s team, known as the Copper Princesses, have landed in Morocco ahead of their crucial second leg match in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers. The team touched down in Casablanca on Thursday morning, brimming with confidence following their impressive 3-1 victory in the first leg.
The standout performer in the first leg was Green Buffaloes forward Bwalya Namute Chileshe, who scored a remarkable hat-trick to secure a 3-1 win for Zambia. Her stellar performance has put the Copper Princesses in a strong position as they head into the second leg with a two-goal advantage.

The aggregate winner of this two-legged tie will earn a coveted spot in the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which will be held in the Dominican Republic. This would be a historic achievement for Zambia, as their last qualification for the U17 World Cup was a decade ago, in 2014.
The team is determined and focused, with coaching staff emphasizing the importance of maintaining their form and composure. “We have a strong lead, but we cannot be complacent. We need to stay disciplined and execute our game plan,” said the head coach.
The Copper Princesses have received an outpouring of support from fans back home, who are hopeful for another stellar performance. The Zambian football community is rallying behind the team, eager to see them secure their place in the global tournament.
