The MTN Super League enters Week Six of the 2025/26 season, with plenty at stake across the table. From title-chasing sides like Zanaco, FC MUZA, Green Buffaloes, and Nchanga Rangers, to relegation-threatened clubs such as Nkana, Nkwazi, Kansanshi Dynamos, and Mines United, every fixture carries weight. This weekend’s action promises twists in both the title race and the battle for survival, making it a decisive round for many teams.
Friday, 26th September 2025
Konkola Blades (6th, 8 pts) vs Nkana (17th, 2 pts) | Konkola Stadium, 15:00h
Konkola Blades sit in 6th place with 8 points and will be eyeing a return to the top four. A win could potentially push them into the CAF Confederation Cup slot, depending on other results. For Nkana, it’s already a desperate situation. With only 2 points from five matches, the 17th-placed side must win to escape the relegation zone. A draw won’t change much, while another defeat would deepen their relegation struggles.
Mutondo Stars (14th, 4 pts) vs Nkwazi (15th, 3 pts) | Arthur Davies Stadium, 15:00h
This is a direct relegation battle. Mutondo Stars (14th) are only one point above Nkwazi (15th), making this clash a six-pointer. A win for Mutondo could move them as high as mid-table if results go their way, while Nkwazi need victory to leapfrog out of the bottom three. A draw would keep both sides in danger, leaving little breathing space.
Mufulira Wanderers (11th, 7 pts) vs Kansanshi Dynamos (16th, 2 pts) | Shinde Stadium, 15:00h
Wanderers are comfortably mid-table but remain just two points off the top six. A home win could push them close to the continental slots. Kansanshi Dynamos, however, are in serious trouble with only 2 points and sitting 16th. They desperately need their first win of the campaign to avoid being cut adrift at the bottom. A draw or loss would keep them stuck in relegation territory.
Saturday, 27th September 2025
Red Arrows (7th, 7 pts) vs FC MUZA (2nd, 10 pts) | Nkoloma Stadium, 15:00h
This is one of the week’s most mouthwatering ties. Arrows, defending champions, are unbeaten but with only 7 points. A win would propel them into the top four, reigniting their title defense. FC MUZA, in 2nd, could go top of the table if they win and Zanaco drop points. A draw keeps MUZA in the top two, while a loss could see them overtaken by Green Buffaloes and Nchanga Rangers.
Green Buffaloes (3rd, 9 pts) vs NAPSA Stars (12th, 5 pts) | Edwin Imboela Stadium, 15:00h
Buffaloes are unbeaten in five games and sit just two points off the top. A win keeps them in close touch with leaders Zanaco. For NAPSA, a win could move them into the top half, but defeat may drag them closer to the relegation zone. A draw would be more valuable to the Soldiers than the Pensioners.
Zanaco (1st, 11 pts) vs Kabwe Warriors (5th, 9 pts) | Sunset Stadium, 15:00h
This is a blockbuster top-five clash. League leaders Zanaco could stretch their lead at the summit with a victory, potentially going four points clear. For Kabwe Warriors, currently 5th, this is a massive opportunity. A win would not only end Zanaco’s unbeaten run but could catapult them into the top two. A draw keeps both sides steady, while a Warriors loss could see them slip out of the top five.
Green Eagles (10th, 7 pts) vs Prison Leopards (13th, 4 pts) | Independence Stadium, Choma, 15:00h
Eagles are inconsistent, but with 7 points they are within touching distance of the top six. A win at home could lift them as high as 5th, depending on other outcomes. Prison Leopards, currently 13th, need points badly. A victory could push them mid-table, while defeat risks being dragged further towards the relegation battle.
Mines United (18th, 1 pt) vs Nchanga Rangers (4th, 9 pts) | Railway Stadium, 15:00h
Bottom-placed Mines United face a huge challenge. With just one point, they must win to kick-start their season. A loss here would cement their place at the bottom. Nchanga Rangers, meanwhile, are flying high in 4th with a game in hand. A win could push them into the top two and even closer to continental qualification. A draw would still keep them competitive, but a loss may slow down their momentum.
Power Dynamos (8th, 7 pts) vs ZESCO United (9th, 7 pts) | Postponed
This Copperbelt derby was set to be a mid-table battle with both teams tied on 7 points. A win for either side would have placed them closer to the top six, but the postponement means they will have to wait longer to climb.
Conclusion
Week Six promises crucial battles across the table. At the top, Zanaco vs Kabwe Warriors and Red Arrows vs MUZA could shape the title race. Mid-table teams like Green Eagles, Buffaloes, and Wanderers have a chance to climb higher, while struggling sides like Nkana, Nkwazi, Kansanshi, and Mines United face make-or-break fixtures.
