Fridah Kabwe Propels Copper Queens into COSAFA Cup Semi-finals with Hat-Trick
Striker Fridah Kabwe delivered a stellar performance, scoring a remarkable hat-trick to lead Zambia to a 5-1 victory over Comoros and secure a spot in the semi-finals of the COSAFA Cup.
In a dazzling display, Zambia’s Fridah Kabwe emerged as the star of the match, netting three crucial goals that propelled her team to the top of Group B with seven points. Zambia’s journey in the tournament started slowly, with a goalless draw against Mozambique. However, they quickly gained momentum, securing a 3-1 victory over Angola before the resounding 5-1 win against Comoros.
Kabwe’s brilliance was evident as she opened the scoring for Zambia in the 20th minute with a skillful dipping and curling shot. Comoros fought back valiantly, equalizing in the 42nd minute with a goal from Mohamed Roukia, benefiting from a deflection by Endjouia Ali.

Kabwe sealed her hat-trick in the 74th minute, capitalizing on a loose ball near the goal line. The final touch came from Sarah Jere, who converted a penalty, putting the icing on the cake for Zambia.
With this impressive victory, Zambia secured their spot in the semi-finals of the COSAFA Cup. Their opponent in the semi-finals will be determined based on the outcome of the match between Zimbabwe and Botswana. Zambia’s fans and supporters are eagerly anticipating their team’s performance as they aim to capture the COSAFA Cup title.
