Zambian Super League giants Zesco United FC have announced that they have parted ways with head coach Numba Mumamba.
The development comes after the Ndola giants were eliminated from the CAF Confederations league following a 1-1 draw against South African side Royal AM.
The club had also disclosed in the statement that they will soon announce the appointment of new coach.
“The club will immediately begin the recruitment process for a new full-time head coach. In the interim, ZESCO United 3rd assistant coach, Alfred Lupiya will act as head coach,” read the statement.
Numba joined the 2017 Caf champions League semifinalists in 2020 on a 3-year contract.
He won the Ndola side their ninth league title in his first season at the club but has failed to qualify the electricity men to group stage of continental competitions on two consecutive occasions.
