The Zambia under-23 Men’s National Team has arrived in Cairo ahead of their first leg, final round qualifier against Egypt for the TotalEnergies Morocco 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. The team, led by coach Oswald Mutapa, was warmly received by members of the Zambian mission in Egypt at the Cairo International Airport.
In addition to the team’s current players, two more Europe-based players, Miguel Chaiwa of BSC Young Boys and Mannah Chiwisa of Atalanta, will join the squad today in Cairo. This is a crucial match for both teams as they aim to qualify for the AFCON.
The winner of this qualifier will have the opportunity to compete in the AFCON, with the top four teams earning a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. This promises to be an exciting and competitive match-up.
