The Zambia national football team, known as Chipolopolo, is set to face the formidable Egyptian national team in an international friendly to be held in the United Arab Emirates next month. The Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) officially confirmed that this friendly matchup will take place on October 12th at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Both Zambia and Egypt are using this friendly encounter as a crucial part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scheduled to kick off in November. The friendly provides an opportunity for both teams to fine-tune their strategies and assess their players’ readiness for the challenging qualifiers.

Pharaohs coach Rui Vitória has already named a provisional list of 11 foreign-based players, with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny among the prominent names. The squad is expected to enter camp on October 9th, ahead of the friendly match against Zambia.

After their clash with Zambia, Egypt is set to face Algeria in another international friendly on October 16th, further highlighting their rigorous preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.

Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant is now in the process of finalizing his squad for this international encounter as preparations for the World Cup qualifiers intensify. Zambia will host Congo and then travel to Niamey to face Niger’s Menas in their opening Group E World Cup qualifiers, scheduled for November.
