Update on Rainford Kalaba Accident: Police Provide Details and Urge Road Safety Compliance
On April 13, 2024, the Kafue Traffic Department reported a fatal road traffic accident near Kafue S Corners involving Mr. Muyunda Isaac driving a Howo truck and an unidentified female driver of a Mercedes Benz car.
Tragically, the female driver succumbed to her injuries at the scene, while Mr. Rainford Kalaba, a passenger in the Mercedes Benz, sustained suspected internal injuries and was transported to UTH for medical attention.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the accident occurred due to improper overtaking by the Mercedes Benz, resulting in a collision with the oncoming truck. The incident emphasizes the importance of adhering to road safety regulations to prevent further loss of lives.
