Chingola, Zambia – Nchanga Rangers Football Club have secured the services of talented forward Jacob Kaunda for the 2025/2026 MTN Super League season, and the striker is already making his mark. Kaunda, who brings a wealth of experience from his previous stints at Chambishi and Power Dynamos, has wasted no time in settling into his new home, scoring on his debut against Mutondo Stars FC.
The goal was a significant moment for Kaunda, who is determined to reignite his career after a challenging season with limited game time. “It feels great to start the league and first game with a goal,” Kaunda said, reflecting on his impactful start. “It will really boost my morale to do better in the upcoming games.”
Having found himself on the fringes last season, Kaunda is now focused on earning a permanent spot in the starting line-up. “I will ensure I work extremely hard to impress the coaches and hopefully find myself in the starting 11,” he stated, showcasing his ambition and a renewed sense of purpose.
His determination is further fuelled by the opportunity to work under the guidance of one of Zambia’s most revered coaches, George Lwandamina. “It feels great to work with him,” Kaunda enthused. “He is one of the biggest coaches in Zambia, and I’m looking forward to a good working relationship.”
Beyond simply securing a place, Kaunda has set his sights on a loftier target. When asked about his personal development, his response was a testament to his ambition. “I will make sure I improve my shooting and scoring more goals, and hopefully come out as top scorer,” he said.
With his talent, dedication, and the mentorship of a football legend, Kaunda’s arrival has injected a fresh wave of optimism into the Nchanga Rangers camp. Fans of the “Brave” side have every reason to be excited as they look forward to seeing their new striker lead the line and chase his ambitious goals in the upcoming season.
