Harrison “Lewa” Chisala Commits Future to Nkana Until 2028
Nkana Football Club have confirmed that captain Harrison “Lewa” Chisala has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Kitwe giants until June 2028, reinforcing the club’s commitment to stability and leadership within the squad.
Chisala, who was appointed club captain in 2024, has remained an influential figure both on and off the pitch. The midfielder has grown into one of the team’s most dependable leaders since joining the club from Mining Rangers Football Club in 2015.
Speaking after signing the new deal, Chisala expressed satisfaction at continuing his journey with the 13-time Zambian champions. “I am really happy to have signed a new contract with Nkana Football Club. Extending my stay here means I continue to be part of a big Kalampa family which is hungry for success and wants to do better every game,” Chisala said.
“The club has the most passionate supporters and we want to repay them with good performances that will bring glory to the team.”
Nkana Chief Executive Officer Mwansa Kapyanga also welcomed the extension, describing the midfielder as a central figure in the team’s structure. “We are delighted to continue our journey together with Harrison, who continues to play an important part in our team. His leadership on and off the pitch has been full of quality and we are hopeful that he will continue to rise in his role,” Kapyanga said.
The contract renewal comes at an important time for Nkana as the club continues its efforts to rebuild and stabilise the squad while aiming to improve performances in the Zambian Super League. Retaining an experienced leader like Chisala is viewed internally as a key step toward maintaining continuity within the dressing room and guiding younger players in the squad.
