Gift Simanasa Turns Down Zambia U23 Call-Up

Muza FC’s rising star, Gift Simanasa, has left the Zambian football community puzzled after turning down a call-up to the national team. The young striker, known for his long-range goal-scoring abilities, was recently named in the U23 squad by coach Osward Mutapa, but has not reported to camp.

Coach Mutapa expressed his disappointment at Simanasa‘s absence, stating that the team had made new inclusions, including Gift, but he had yet to join the squad. The player was called to join the U23 squad few days ago, long before the ABSA CUP quarterfinals. The coach’s comments were made after the morning training session at Heroes Stadium.
