Kizito Keziron Nears Move to FC Vizela as Portuguese Side Lead Race for Ugandan Midfielder
Ugandan midfielder Kizito Keziron, who currently plays for Zambian side Kansanshi Dynamos in the National Division One League, is close to sealing a move to Portuguese second-tier club FC Vizela, according to AfricaFoot.
Talks between the player’s representatives and the Vizela hierarchy took place in Nairobi earlier this week, with a three-year deal reportedly on the table. Sources indicate the deal is in advanced stages, with only minor details remaining before an official announcement.
From Zambia to Europe?
Keziron has been a standout performer for Kansanshi Dynamos this season, drawing attention from several top clubs in Africa and beyond. His consistent displays in midfield have not only boosted the club’s campaign but also reignited interest in his services from abroad.
Aged 28, Keziron has previously played for Vipers SC, A.F.C. Leopards, Kerala Blasters, KCCA, ZESCO United. His potential move to Vizela marks a significant return to European football. With Vizela currently sitting second on the Liga Portugal 2 table, they are strong contenders for promotion to the Primeira Liga, which adds to the appeal of the deal.
Competition from Tanzania
While Vizela lead the race, Keziron has also been on the radar of Tanzanian giants Simba SC, who have long admired the midfielder. However, the Portuguese outfit’s offer appears more concrete at this stage, especially with promotion to top-flight football looming.
A Big Step Forward
If finalized, the move will be a major step forward for Keziron, who will be joining a club with strong ambitions and European pedigree. The timing is ideal, too, with Vizela preparing for life in the Portuguese top tier and in need of experienced reinforcements to bolster their midfield options.
His journey from Kansanshi Dynamos in Zambia to a potential spot in the Primeira Liga is a reminder of the rich talent pool within African football — and how second-tier European sides are increasingly scouting the continent for gems.
