The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has with immediate effect appointed football administrator Lieutenant Colonel Kambani Ronald Lungu as General Manager for National Teams.
FAZ General Secretary Charles Chakatazya said Lungu brings a wealth of football administration experience and knowledge to the national teams setup, having previously served in various roles at both club and association level.
Lungu to Strengthen National Teams Administration
Chakatazya said the appointment is aimed at improving the coordination and administration of Zambia’s national teams.
“We are confident that Col. Lungu’s experience in football administration will add value to the national teams set-up. His role will be critical in ensuring that our national teams are well coordinated and supported,” Chakatazya said.
Lungu will work closely with the technical and administrative teams across all levels to ensure smooth operations and effective coordination of the various national teams.
Red Arrows CEO Takes Up FAZ Role
Lungu is currently serving as Chief Executive Officer of Red Arrows Football Club, one of Zambia’s leading football clubs.
Before becoming CEO, he served as Team Manager at Red Arrows, gaining hands-on experience in football administration and team management.
He has also previously served as a member of the Power Dynamos executive committee, further adding to his experience within Zambian football administration.
Lungu Replaces Chakatazya
Lungu takes over the General Manager for National Teams position from Charles Chakatazya, who previously held the role before being appointed FAZ General Secretary.
His appointment comes as FAZ seeks to strengthen the administrative structures supporting Zambia’s national teams.
Chakatazya said the association expects Lungu to make a positive contribution to the management and development of the national teams.
“We welcome Col. Lungu to this important role and look forward to his contribution towards improving the management and development of our national teams,” he said.
