Bruce Mwape Announces 26-Member Squad for WAFCON Qualifiers

Bruce Mwape, the head coach of the Zambia Women’s National Team, has unveiled the 26-member provisional squad for the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) second-round matches against Angola. The squad comprises a mix of both local and foreign-based players.

The local-based players are set to enter the training camp on Sunday, November 19, to prepare for the first leg scheduled for November 29, 2023. The foreign-based players, including those from Kazakhstan whose league concluded last month, will join the camp when the FIFA women’s international window opens on November 27, 2023.

Zambia aims for a fourth consecutive appearance at the WAFCON, building on their historic bronze medal at the 2022 edition where they triumphed over Nigeria. The squad includes a blend of experienced players and emerging talents across various positions.
