Assistant coach Update after the first Copper Queens training

All players where invited by Zambia Women’s National Team coach Bruce Mwape’s have joined camp for the Copper Queens’ first training camp of 2023.

In interview by FAZ Media team, Assistant coach Florence Mwila said that all the invited 33 players are in camp making up recovery sessions because players were playing from different teams over the previous weekend.

“This is a very important camp as we begin the year , we also run towards the world cup. It is also important that we engage local upcoming players who are doing their very best in the local league which has now become competitive.”, Coach Mwila said.

Apart from this, Coach Mwila added that the ongoing camp is an opportunity for new players to showcase their skills and see if they can be given a position into the team. She further added that this should set as an encouragement to other team players who were not selected to continue working hard in their various clubs.

The FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 will commence in 177 days with New Zealand taking on Norway in the opening match on July 20, Four African Nations, South Africa, Morocco, Zambia and Nigeria will be representing the continent at the competition and Final will be held in Sydney / Gadigal on August 20.
