ROAN UNITED SANCTIONED, NANGWESHI PIRATES AWARDED 3-0 VICTORY
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Disciplinary Committee has ruled on the protest lodged by Nangweshi Pirates FC against Roan United FC following their Group B encounter in the ongoing 2025 National League Playoffs.
After a thorough examination of match return forms and player registration records, the Committee found Roan United FC guilty of fielding an ineligible player under a misrepresented identity. The investigation revealed that a player listed as “Musamvu James” on the Roan United match return form was not registered with the club for the 2024/25 season.
The name is associated with a different player currently registered with Airport Warriors FC. The FAZ ID used corresponded to another Roan United player, creating a clear case of misrepresentation and player identity falsification.
As a result, and in line with Rule 3.1 and Rule 6.1 of the FAZ National Division One Playoffs 2025 Tournament Rules, Roan United FC has forfeited the match, and the result has been officially recorded as a 3-0 victory in favour of Nangweshi Pirates FC.
In a related matter, the Disciplinary Committee also reprimanded and fined Nangweshi Pirates FC following inappropriate conduct by club officials.
The Committee noted unsporting utterances and attempts to influence the judicial process by members of Nangweshi’s technical team.
In line with Article 14 of the FAZ Disciplinary Code, Nangweshi Pirates FC has been fined K3,000, to be settled before their next fixture on 19 June 2025. The club is also required to submit an official retraction and apology from club official Likando Mubyana.
The Committee has warned that further misconduct of this nature will attract harsher penalties, including possible disqualification from the competition and additional disciplinary charges.
