POWER DYNAMOS MAINTAIN TITLE CHARGE WITH 4–2 WIN OVER MUZA
Power Dynamos continued their strong push at the summit of the Zambian Premier League with an entertaining 4–2 victory over FC MUZA in a Week 24 encounter played at Arthur Davies Stadium on March 12, 2026.
The Kitwe giants wasted little time asserting themselves. In the 7th minute, Kenyan striker Moses Shumah opened the scoring after reacting quickest to a rebound when his initial header from a cross delivered by Prince Mumba was parried by the goalkeeper.
Power Dynamos soon doubled their lead. This time Mumba turned provider again, setting up Fredrick Mulambia, who calmly lifted the ball over the advancing goalkeeper to make it 2–0.
MUZA fought back before the break when Francis Mukuka pulled one back from a tight angle, beating goalkeeper Willard Mwanza to give the visitors hope going into halftime.
The visitors continued their resurgence early in the second half as Given Kalusa capitalised on a loose pass to level the score at 2–2.
However, the defending champions quickly restored their advantage in the 54th minute. Substitute Chifundo Mphasi produced a superb trivela cross that found Shumah, who finished clinically to grab his second goal of the afternoon.
MUZA’s task became even more difficult when Chanda Chileshe was sent off after receiving a second yellow card for a dangerous challenge on Mphasi.
With the numerical advantage, Power Dynamos controlled the closing stages and sealed the result in stoppage time when Brian Masanyinga capitalised on a goalkeeping error to slot into an empty net.
The victory keeps Power Dynamos firmly on top of the table with 51 points, restoring their five-point lead ahead of their next league fixture against Kansanshi Dynamos in Solwezi on March 15, 2026.
