Nkana Football Club has confirmed the delivery of 2,806 stadium seats to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, fulfilling their pledge to replace those destroyed during the Kitwe Derby earlier this year.
The club announced the development this morning, noting that the seats are now on-site and awaiting installation.
The incident dates back to April 2025, when Nkana supporters allegedly vandalized over 2,000 seats following a controversial late penalty awarded to Power Dynamos. The derby ended in chaos, with significant damage to stadium infrastructure.
Following the unrest, Nkana FC issued a public apology and vowed to repair the damages. Today’s delivery marks a major step towards honoring that commitment and restoring order between the club and the stadium authorities.
The move has been welcomed as a positive gesture of accountability, as the club seeks to rebuild its image both on and off the pitch.
