16 young and promising football players from Malawi are in Iceland taking part in the Rey Cup Iceland tournament . The young stars left the country on 19th July 2023 and played two friendly matches before kicking off the international pre-season under 17 tournament.
Their first massive competitive fixture was an opening game with the Reynir club in which they secured 8 goals to zero and went on to win their second match with a goal.
The players are part of the Ascent Soccer ,which provides vulnerable boys and girls with opportunities for education and critical life skills combined with world class football skill’s development. Currently it is operating in Zimbabwe, Uganda and Malawi.
